Retaining walls are constructed out of either timber, concrete or steel. The type of wall will depend on the ground conditions and the load retained by the wall.
GHK Piling has the ability to drill to a depth of 26m, with drilled piles being between 300mm and 1200mm diameter. Piles can also be driven to a depth of 16m continuously, before a splice is required.
If required for stability, our retaining walls can be tied back using either proprietry post tensioned anchors or tie rods cast into concrete anchor blocks.
Steel sheet piling driven with an electric/hydraulic vibrating hammer is another of GHK's specialist retaining construction areas.
